What do you get with this service?
Replacement of the stock screen for a new IPS one. The quality of the screen of portable systems such as the Game Gear or the Atari Lynx cannot be compared to modern LCDs, particularly IPS. Luckily companies like BenVenn (recommended product for this installation, for example, from ZedLabz in the UK) make replacement screens that fit the Game Gear and look fantastic. This could be considered a mandatory upgrade if you don’t mind replacing the stock screen, or your screen just doesn’t work anymore.
It is assumed that you will provide a replacement kit with all the right components (such as mounting brackets, flex cables, etc). If you would like us to install a screen that is not from BennVenn, please get in touch so that we can assess the amount of work required.
What you don’t get with this service
This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered. If your console turns on but the screen doesn’t work, please check our recap service which might fix this problem. If your console has not be recapped, we recommend that this is done prior to any further work.
The screen kit is not included. You can purchase BennVenn screens from ZedLabz in the UK, or import them directly from BennVenn.
Shipping
You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.
The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
