This order was for the recap of a MD1 and the installation of a region-free + DFO mod.
The console was in relatively OK condition although it was dirty inside and the shield was starting to rust. The console was first disassembled and recapped.
installation of the region-free mod and DFO requires to remove the stock clock and to cut a couple of traces, namely, the reset button trace, and the region jumper traces. A set of wires are then soldered which will connect to the sub-board that controls the new LED and the 3 different colours, depending on the region.
Once the installation was completed, tests were done with one game for each of the three regions.
To change the region, press the pause button for 2-3 seconds, and the colour of the LED will change.
Please note that this being a PAL MD1, japanese carts do not fit and will require an adapter. North american carts fit just fine.
All tests were carried out with an RGB cable.
