The shop has been going for over 6 months now and in that time I have added services for 18 different consoles. For some of those consoles, the services I support are quite comprehensive, but for others is just one or two things. This is because I will never add a service that I haven’t performed at least once. The pictures in the site prove that. Many times I invest in my own consoles and mods, and use that to increase the services I provide. Other times, a customer would order a service that I do not provide knowing that I have never performed it, trusting the experience I have with other mods and consoles. This process will steadily increase my experience and services over time, but is slow.
I want more
In order to accelerate my learning of new mods and consoles, I am now offering free modding for services I have never done before. I will even pay the return shipping cost if you are in the UK. Obviously, I reserve the right to select what I would accept, but just to give you an idea of what I’d particularly be keen on:
- Generally, modding of consoles not in my list (up to 6th generation) e.g. PC Engine, Neo Geo, Game Boy, 3DO, CDi, etc
- Modern HDMI mods e.g. Retro GEM. ElectronAVE, HISPEEDIDO, etc
- Screen replacement mods for portable consoles e.g, Game Boy, Game Gear, Atari Lynx, etc
How does it work?
Easy. Send me an email and explain what mod you have in mind. Once we agree, I will let you know the address of my Po Box. Send me your console and all the required modding hardware. Once I’m done, I will return your modded console to you.

Terms & Conditions
- The T&Cs for the Free Modding Programme (referred as “The Programme” herein) override the general store T&Cs on paragraphs 5, 6 and 7
- We reserve the right to accept or refuse any proposal submitted to us through The Programme.
- You consent for us to take photos of your console and any services we perform in it during the course of your participation in The Programme, and use them in social media posts associated with Topvint, the topvint.co.uk website or email communications from the topvint.co.uk domain. You also consent for us to describe the work undertaken in your console. No identifiable or personal information will be shared as per our Privacy Policy
- You agree to cover the cost of shipping the console and the mod kit to be installed to us, but we will cover the cost of performing the service in your consoles, and returning the console to you if you live in the UK. If you live outside of the UK, you agree to pay the cost of us returning the console to you. Please check the store Shipping Policy regarding international shipping
- You accept the risk of us providing this service to you under The Programme. We will accept no liability for any damages to your console or the mod kit in the process of carrying out the service we have agreed. We will also not be responsible for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
- We provide no warranty of the work undertaken under The Programme.
- If you have already shipped your console under The Programme and would like to cancel the service we have agreed prior to us undertaken it, you will be required to pay the return shipping costs if you are in the UK. The international shipping policy continues to apply in this case.
- You cannot cancel services undertaken under The Programme if the service has already been started.
- Any fees paid during your participation on The Programme are non-refundable.
