This was a service for a Refurbishment TLC of an original “phat” PS3, piano black.
The console is a CECHC03 partially backwards compatible. The status both inside and outside was relatively clean. First step was full disassembly to get to the main motherboard. Starting with removing the warranty sticker with hot air so that it could be put back in place without noticing (as much as possible) that it has been opened

Most of the dust was around the fan vents. Further disassembly and using compressed air and brushes cleared it

Next was the main motherboard, de-lidding the GPU and changing all the thermal paste

Also changing all the thermal pads, which in this revision, there are quite a lot

The battery was also replaced. This involved removing the special cable and resoldering it to a new battery and putting heat-shrink tube for protection

Also looked into the Blu-ray player and polished the top of console to leave it extra shiny

I did not make a final photo of the result but I think it looks quite good 🙂
