This service included the Refurbishment and TLC of a PS3 as well as the upgrade to a 1TB SSD drive. The customer provided the SSD drive.
While the console looked relatively in good condition externally, once opened it had a fair amount of fluff and dust.

An old guest that had seen better days was also found in the motherboard.

The shell was washed with warm water and soap

The RSX chip was de-lidded and the thermal compound stuck to the RAM chips scrapped

The thermal pads were replaced and the thermal paste renewed using Arctic’s MX-4

The battery was also replaced by removing the connector and soldering it into a new battery, and using a shrink tube to wrap it in order to insulate it

The Blu-Ray drive was also opened up, cleaned and lubricated

The fan was also thoroughly cleaned with compressed air and a brush. Once the shell was dried, the console was then reassembled and tested successfully

The 40GB HDD was cloned into the 1TB SSD drive, and replaced inside the console. System information shows the new size of the drive

Finally the top shell was polished with wax and the reassembly was completed
