Order #4046

This service was a combined modchip (Mayumi v4) and Dual Frequency Oscillator (From consolesunleashed.com).

First the console was tested for good normal function, and then disassembled to reach the motherboard. The first task was to remove the shield to uncover the area where the Mayumi v4 has to be installed. This shield was soldered back afterwards.

The Mayumi v4 was then installed. A test was done before proceeding with the DFO installation to make sure that the console could now boot homebrew recorded discs.

Next step was to install the DFO, which requires preparation by removing one of the resistors near the GPU. After that, the installation requires 4 wires and is done at the bottom of the board under the GPU.

Final test with a NTSC game, all working well 🙂
