Order #5301

This order was for a TLC and installation of a modchip on an PAL Aqua Blue PS2. The console had superficial scratches on the paint but otherwise was in good condition. All tests of PS1 and PS2 games worked well.

First step was to disassemble the console to get to the motherboard. The warranty sticker was removed with heat to be able to put it back later to pretend nothing happened 🙂

Once the motherboard was out it was time for setting the chip and plan the wiring. This is a GH-023, or a V9 console.

Using kynar wire blue as the colour seemed fitting for the console

On the TLC front, the console shell was washed with soap and warm water. Also the thermal pad was changed

The fan was cleaned and the battery replaced

Finally the DVD drive was disassembled, cleaned and greased. The belt was also replaced even if the one that was with the console was in quite a good condition

Putting it back together and then testing. It works well with PS1 and PS2 games both PAL and NTSC. Pictures below for japanese games.

Finally some wiping with UV protector, fixing some lopsided rubber feet, and putting back that warranty sticker 🙂
