This order was for the TLC, retrobrighting, region-free BIOS, FRAM and USB PSU install on a japanese white Sega Saturn. The order also included TLC and retrobrighthing of two white controllers.
The console was a VA SG revision, and is quite good condition. First order of business was to recap the console using a RetroUpgrades kit.

Second order of business was to completely disassemble, wash with soap and water and retrobright the console and the controllers. For the controllers, the cables were also cleaned as part of the service.

The BIOS and FRAM mods came after testing that the recap had gone according to plan. Note how both chips need different pins wired to ground and 5v to ensure that they function correctly.

The optical drive was also partially disassembled, cleaned and lubricated with new white lithium grease

Replacing the original japanese PSU is just a matter of plug-and-play. This model is sold by RetroSix and can be used in any revision of Sega Saturns. The console was then tested with both PAL and NTSC games and found to work with no problem.

And that’s it!
