First of all full disassembly and bath of plastic components and clenaing and oiling of the fan
The AV port is a particular worry. Really rusted, the metal shield slightly bent and one of the plastic corners cracked. I used plenty of IPA to clean and a dremmel tool with a fine tip to mechanically remove as much as the rust as possible. I also tried to bend the metal shield back in place and applied Deoxit to the port in the end.
I also disassembled the DVD drive, cleaning it and lubricating the rails
Finally some magic eraser to remove some of the scuff marks and a protective layer to make the PS2 shine again 🙂
