OG Xbox 128 MB RAM Upgrade 1.6

What do you get with this service?

The 1.6 revision of the OG Xbox removed the unpopulated pads from the motherboards where to install the extra momory modules. As a consequence, the only way to install extra RAM in this revision is to install the new modules on top of the existing ones and adding extra “cable select” wiring so that the console can activate the right module when it needs to. This procedure is more complex and time consuming than for other models, hence the need for a separate upgrade service for this revision.

This service includes

• The installation of 4 RAM modules in order to upgrade the Xbox total RAM memory to 128 MB.
• Testing of the successful upgrade of the RAM (through Xblast RAM test)
• The cost of the RAM modules

What you don’t get with this service

This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered.

You need to mod your Xbox for the RAM you be available. Some consoles will not boot with a RAM upgrade unless the console has been modded. Please check our modding services if you need to mod your console

What can you do with 128 MB or RAM?

As explained in ConsoleMods website, the additional RAM allows you to (wtih the right software)

• Play three of the Sega Chihiro (Xbox-based arcade board) games
• Run emulators with better compatibility and performance
• Tweak some games via XBE patches to run with better performance.

Shipping

You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.

The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
