What do you get with this service?
Replacement of the capacitors of your OG Xbox. Please choose which option you want from the drop-down list. The capacitors that tend to fail more often and the so call “CPU caps” , which are between 3 to 5 capacitors located nearby the CPI. However full recaps are available if required.
Please note that the only capacitors that are included as part of this service are the CPU capacitors. For the rest, capacitor kits will need to be obtained and sent together with the console. We recommend Console5 capacitor kits for this one, as not reliable source of capacitor kits for the OG Xbox can be found in the UK. Please make sure you order the right capacitor kit for your motherboard revision, PSU type and DVD drive. If in doubt, please as in advance.
This service also included the removal of the Clock Capacitor in revisions 1.0 to 1.4 . The clock capacitor is not required for operation in these revisions but it can leak and create damage, something you cannot know until you open the console for inspection. Revision 1.6 has a different type of clock capacitor and it doesn’t tend to fail in the same way while is required for operation.
What you don’t get with this service
This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered.
Capacitor kits beyond the CPU caps i.e. full motherboard, PSU and DVD drive, are not included. Shipping
You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.
The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
