Original Xbox (board revision 1.3) that has been modded with a Topvint ModXo modchip, flashed with Cerbios 2.4.2. The HDD has been replaced by a 2TB SATA disk, an ASUS 80 pin IDE cable and an IDE-to-SATA adapter of the Startech brand, which is widely regarded as the most stable and fastest adapter available. The DVD drive has been replaced by a Topvint Xtray in green. Additionally the RAM has been upgraded to 128MB, to offer greater performance with homebrew and allows you to play a handful of SEGA Chihiro games.
This Xbox has been refurbished, including overall cleaning, change of thermal paste on the GPU and CPU, as well as polishing of jewel and other plastic parts. New themed, 3D printed , rubber feet have also been installed. The fan was disassembled and oiled for smoother run. The shell is however not perfect, and still presents some scuffs and scratches. In terms of software, this Xbox defaults to the XBMC4Gamers dashboard, but that can be changed easily by modifying the Cerbios.ini file.
The artwork library has also been installed so any game will have nice artwork with customisable views.
Things you can do with a modded Original Xbox with a 128MB mod:
- Play region-free backup games directly from the HDD
- Play three of the Sega Chihiro (Xbox-based arcade board) games
- Tweak some games via XBE patches to run with better performance
- Run homebrew apps such as emulators with better compatibility and performance
- Connect remotely via FTP
- Run different dashboards and configure how your user interface looks like
- Connect to the online software repository
- Play region free DVD movies
This is originally a PAL console from the UK and therefore expects 220v as input. If you are planning to use this console in a country that uses 110v, you will need a step up transformer or will need to swap the internal PSU for one of the same model from your region.
