What do you get with this service?
Replacement of the capacitors of your PS2, fat and slim. The amount of capacitors to be replaced may vary depending on the console. Please choose the right option for you on the drop down list between:
- Only motherboard
- Motherboard and PSU
Note that some of the capacitors on some models might need to be replaced by surface mounted tantalum equivalents if the model is not longer manufactured. This should have no effect in the performance of the console. Please also note that the filtering capacitors in some of the PSU models might be difficult to obtain. Please check motherboard and PSU models before ordering.
Please note that the capacitors are not included as part of this service. We recommend Console5 capacitor kits for this one, as not reliable source of capacitor kits for the PS2 can be found in the UK. Please make sure you order the right capacitor kit for your board and/or PSU revision. If in doubt, please ask in advance.
What you don’t get with this service
This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered.
Shipping
You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.
The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
