What do you get with this service?
Replacement of the stock screen for a new IPS one. The quality of the screen of portable systems such as the Sega Nomad or Game Gear cannot be compared to modern LCDs, particularly IPS. Companies like BenVenn or Hispeedido make replacement screens that fit many portable consoles, include the Nomad, and they look fantastic. While the Sega Nomad screen is slightly better than its predecesor, the Game Gear, this could be considered a mandatory upgrade as it vastly improves the quality of the video output.
There are not many kits out there that fit the Sega Nomad. This listing show photos for a Hispeedido kit. It is assumed that you will provide a replacement kit with all the right components (such as mounting brackets, flex cables, etc). If you would like us to install a different screen, please get in touch so that we can assess the amount of work required.
What you don’t get with this service
This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered. If your console has not be recapped, we recommend that this is done prior to any further work, even if the Nomad capacitors are better than the Game Gear..
The screen kit is not included. You can purchase Hispeedido screens from AliExpress as referenced in the Hispeedidor website.
Shipping
You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.
The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
