What do you get with this service?
The installation of a Matrix PicFix chip in your PS2 console.
Certain version of 50k and 70k models of Ps2 are well known for having issues with how the laser handles some original scratched and burnt discs, which can lead to buringing the laser and shortening its life. Later revisions included a protection circuit from factory. While this is not a problem only for modded consoles that accept burnt media, it can be more of an issue due to the variability of those discs versus original PS2 discs. While there is no perfect solution to this problem, the Matrix PicFix detects when the console’s laser controller fails and shuts down the console to prevent burning of the laser.
This fix is available for all PS2 consoles V9-V12 (as per this guideline). Other versions of the console do not need this fix.
What you don’t get with this service
This is not a repair service. Please ensure your system is fully functional as stated in our Terms and Conditions, or contact us before purchasing the service if unsure what will be covered.
The Matrix PicFix itself is not included, so please provide a modchip at the same time as you send your console in. You can buy this from online shops like Consles Unleashed or ModzvilleUSA.

Shipping
You are responsible for shipping the system in adequate packaging to our address. An email will be sent to you after purchase with some suggestions about how to do this as well as shipping details. The cost of you shipping your system to us is not included in the price of the service.
The shipping we do charge for this service is to send the console back to you when the service is finished. To the extent possible, we will use the same packaging material you used to send the system to us in the first place. We will replace packaging material if it is damaged when we receive it at no cost to you.
