The console was sent with a faulty power button. Upon inspection, the fault was tracked to a clock capacitor leak which had corroded traces routing the power button. The clock capacitor was removed, the corrosion cleaned, and the trace that was broken was replaced with a jumper wire, which fixed the problem with the power button.

A subsequent service was ordered to replace the CPU capacitors, TLC the console (including shield sanding and painting), and install a 1TB SATA drive. Firstly, the console was fully disassembled and cleaned

This shields were then sanded and painted

The fan was cleaned and installed back into the console

The DVD drive was also disassembled and cleaned. The laser assembly had signs of rust. The tray belt was also replaced.

The CPU capacitors were replaced and the thermal paste also changed.

An Aladdin modchip was installed as it wasn’t possible to lock the new HDD with the key.

Final testing, polishing of the jewel and application of plastic enhancer
