Order #5799

This order was for the USB-C modding, replacement of batteries and of sticks for 2x Xbox 360 controllers and 4x PS3 controllers.

Let’s start with the Xbox 360 controllers. One of them didn’t sync to the console, probably due to a faulty switch. However the other one did, and I used the same sticks. The state of the controllers was in general not good. The sticks were very dirty and rusty. There was rust throughout the PCBs, and one of the battery pins was detached. One of the controllers also had a replaced analogue stick.

On the PS3 controllers, the situation was better with some of them, but others wasn’t great either.

Two of the controllers had had some work done on the conductive flexible membrane, with some interesting arrangements

Most of the controllers had through hole mounted ports, but one was surface mounted, so I had to use hot air to remove the port and mount the new port on top of the wires

Some more pictures of installed ports. All the ports have been soldered to the pads, not glued.
